They offer childcare, information on child development, parenting skills, assistance in enrolling children in education services, referrals to other services and general support for mothers and children in crisis situations.
The child friendly playroom is very well equipped for children of all ages and the child support worker provides activities and support in a non-threatening and inviting environment. There is an outdoor play equipment area situated in the enclosed backyard for the children’s enjoyment while they are staying at the refuge.
Child Support Workers provide an activities program each school holidays for in-house and outreach clients and their children.
Our 426 Club is a six week program for children aged 8 to 12 who have experienced domestic violence. The children are given the opportunity to talk about their experiences with others who have been in a similar situation. The children have fun in a small group setting with guidance from trained facilitators.
