Domestic Violence (DV) Group

The Domestic Violence group is held once a week for a 6 week period. The course involves awareness of the cycle of Domestic Violence, the effects of domestic violence and improving self esteem. The group addresses the types of Domestic Violence, along with the feelings and behaviours that are involved with Domestic Violence.

426 Club

426 Club is a support group for children aged between 8-12 years who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence. The program runs for 6 weeks and enrols a maximum of 8 children per program.

The aim of the program is for children to learn that they are not alone in experiencing family violence. The group also encourages children to talk about their feelings and keeping safe, to identify and develop protective behaviours, and to discuss conflict resolution and alternatives to violence.

The group also aims to develop children’s self-esteem and self image; children have fun within a small group setting.
