Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) is a program to assist parents with strategies to manage childhood behaviour problems. This program helps develop positive and caring parent/child relationships, with strategies for dealing with common behavioural and developmental issues.
Triple P is an evidence-based parenting program for families with children aged 0 to 12 years. Program delivery is conducted face to face by accredited staff to assist parents to narrow down specific parenting issues in order to bring about change. This is made possible by helping parents to identify triggers and plan ahead for high risk situations and deal positively and consistently with problem behaviour and encourage parental self reliance.
The Triple P core principles are:
- Taking care of oneself as a parent
- Ensuring a safe and engaging environment
- Arranging a positive learning environment
- Using assertive discipline
- Having realistic expectations
Triple P is run from our premises at 62 Gunnedah Road and is free to attend. The program consists of five two-hour sessions.
