Resilience, innovation and community spirit to be celebrated at Local Women's Awards

The community are invited put forward nominations for the 2023 TFSS Local Women’s Awards.  

Excited at the event’s return, TFSS Chief Executive Officer Belinda Kotris said this year’s event will have four separate award categories. 

“The award categories are Community Woman of the Year, Community Woman of the Year (16-24 years), Outstanding Businesswoman, and the TFSS Award of Reslience. 

The award criterion as follows:  

  • Community Woman of the Year: Local woman who has helped make a positive change in our community through paid and unpaid work. 
  • Community Woman of the Year (16-24 years): Young woman from 16 to 24 years who helped make any positive change in our community. 
  • Outstanding Businesswoman: Local woman who has used her own business to help make a positive change in the community.   
  • TFSS Award of Resilience: Acknowledging women in our community who are currently facing or have overcome adversity. 

2022 Community Woman of the Year Ms Julie Hemmett said that she thoroughly enjoyed last year’s Awards Ceremony.  

“The TFSS Local Women’s Awards is a great initiative that allows the community to come together and hear both stories and achievements.” 

Ms Kotris said that these awards celebrate the resilience and dedication of women across our community.  

“We are surrounded by some incredible women in our community, and through these awards we want to help share these stories,” said Ms Kotris. 

The awards nominations will culminate with a ceremony and morning tea to be held at the Tamworth Golf Club on Wednesday 8 March 2023.
