Trainee acknowledged with regional award

Category Media Release.

TFSS would like to congratulate trainee Jayden Townsend for being awarded 2024 New England Trainee of the Year.

In 2022, Jayden had completed his studies in Plumbing and Fire Sprinklers, presuming that his educational journey had come to an end. However, Jayden could not shake the feeling that he needed to continue his learning and do more in the community.

After talking with friends and family, Jayden pursued a career in Community Services and started work as a Trainee Caseworker within the TFSS Family Preservation team.

“Working at TFSS has provided an incredible balance of practical learning, theory, extracurricular activities, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.”

“The change did have different personal and professional challenges, but it was made easier by having a supportive team and a strong passion for helping those in need.”

“Even though I still have more to learn, I feel privileged to be trusted enough by families to work through different hardships,” said Mr Townsend.

TFSS Family Preservation Manager Bryarne Bielefeld said that Jayden is a valued team member and an outstanding asset for the community.

“Jayden is a committed passionate case worker who demonstrates the values of inclusiveness, positivity, resilience with a work ethic that is second to none.

Jayden has recently moved into a Case Worker role, where he intends to complete his Diploma in Community Services and bachelor’s degree in either psychology or social Work.

“The whole experience has taught me that it is never too late to learn,” said Mr Townsend.
